PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a dust collecting bag to cope with level-up of suction power of a vacuum cleaner, by making basis weight, thickness, and the ratio thereof, each absolute values of tensile strength in machine and cross directions and the ratio thereof, and permeability of a filter material to be specific values. SOLUTION: This dust collecting bag 1 for a vacuum cleaner is made by matching the suction opening of a bag main body 2 and the guide opening 4 of a support plate 3, adhering the suction opening circumference of the bag main body 2 on the circumference of the guide opening 4 on the back face of the support plate 4, and adhering a flexible synthetic resin film 6 on which an inserting opening 5 is made on the circumference of the guiding opening 4 to make the guiding opening 4 and the inserting opening 5 to be almost concentric. Here, the filter material to constitute the bag main body 2 must be as follows: basis weight 46.5-60.0g/m<2> , thickness 120-230μm, the ratio thereof 0.41-0.23, and further, each absolute value of tensile strength in machine and cross directions 6.5-2.5kgf/15mm width and the ratio thereof (CD/MD) not lower than 0.7, permeability 0.21-0.16sec/200cc.
