<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of yield caused by cutting down the defective part of a steel tube, to eliminate labor required to cut down work and also to improve the quality of the steel tube by automatically executing the prevention of the empty elongation in cold Pilger equipment. SOLUTION: In the cold Pilger equipment, the current value of a motor for elongating is always measured during elongating a tube stock with the cold Pilger, the measured current value is compared with a preset current value which is preliminarily set and at which the empty elongation of the cold Pilger is prevented and, when the measured current value of the motor for elongating which is always measured becomes less than the preset current value continuously for not less than a prescrived time, elongation is stopped.</p> |
