PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic composition capable of being rinsed out instantly in spite of containing an oily phase. SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition contains at least one oily phase and at least one citric acid ester corresponding to formula I R1 to R3 are each same or different and H atom, an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal ammonium cation, an organic base cation or a group of formula II: (Cn H2n O)m R4 [(n)=2, 3 or 4, (m)=5-30]; R4 is a saturated, linear or branched 8-24C alkyl group, and at least one of R1 , R2 and R3 is a group of the formula II}.
