PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a door closer applicable to a double hinged door pivotally supported by a two-shaft type hinge regardless of the grade of its opening angle in spite of the door closer for a single shaft type double hinged door on the market limited on an opening angle. SOLUTION: A door closer 4 for a double hinged door is so constituted as to accumulate spring force to bidirectional rotation input of an input-output shaft 40 and reversely rotating the input-output shaft 40 by this spring force to close the door 1. In this case, an arm 41 is provided to transmit the spring force to the door 1 being fastened to the input-output shaft 40 through a step-up gear 43. With the step-up gear 43 thus interposed between the input-output shaft 40 and the arm 41 simultaneously with interposition of the arm 41, the door closer 4 can cope with a double hinged door with an opening angle not less than the original maximum opening angle of the door closer 4.
