PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate and detect urination and defecation by providing a waterproof filter and a gas sensor on a suction pipe for sucking excreted excreta, detecting the excreta by gas sensor signals and identifying the urination and the defecation by the width of the peak of the detection signals. SOLUTION: This excretion detector 2 is constituted of a gas sensor 4 and a microcomputer 22, etc. The gas sensor 4 is attached to the rear flow side of the waterproof filter 10 of a small diameter pipe 11 provided with the waterproof filter 10 and a branch 8 connected to a suction port 6 attached near the private parts inside a diaper. At the time of exchanging the diaper, when signals are inputted from a switch 34, the detection signals of the urination and the defecation stored in the storage part 30 of the microcomputer 22 are eliminated and new detection signals from the gas sensor 4 are stored. The width of the peak of the new detection signals is detected by peak width detection 28 and whether it is the urination or the defecation is identified. By displaying it at a nurse center 36, the urination and the defecation are discriminated and detected. |
