Compounds of the formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) are prepared by reaction of the phenylacetic acid derivatives substituted by the appropriate heterocycles, optionally in an activated form, with phenylglycinols. The compounds are suitable as active compounds in medicaments, in particular in medicaments having antiatherosclerotic activity.
