The power switch comprises at least one electrically controlled switch (4). In addition, the display unit comprises a control circuit (6) which closes and opens said at least one switch (4) for switching on and off the display unit in response to the state of at least one video or deflection signal received by the display unit or a command received via a communication channel (9) utilizing the signals of the video interface.
