<p>The process involves an ingot mould which can be moved longitudinally from the molten metal inlet as the ingot solidifies. The ingot is closed at the bottom but has a molten metal inlet opening on one of its side faces. This opening extends over the entire height of the ingot and is closed below the metal inlet by a low, cooled panel, against which the metal commences and proceeds to solidify as the ingot mould is moved.</p> |
