PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transportation box for experimental animals, which is prevented from being damaged due to animals and which is excellent in the compressive strength and hence which can be stacked in a multistage configulation and recycled. SOLUTION: This transportation box A for experimental animals is constituted of a paper outer box B and a plastic inner container C which are detachably combined. A window hole D or a notch D' as a ventilation air passage is formed at the end face or the side faces of the outer case opened at the upper face. A sash plate F with a folding-in flap is attached at the upper part of the end face of the outer case B so as to horizontally extend toward the inside and the upper edge of the inner container C is arranged to position under the sash plate. The plastic inner container is constituted of a box body opened at the upper side and a cover detachably fitted to the box body and the inside containing part including the four corners in the box body is finished to have a smooth curved form. One or both faces of the side faces and the end faces in the box body are made to form slopes so that the bottom side of the box body does not closely contact the outer box and a gap J is formed between both faces and further, a number of through holes are opened on the surface of the cover.
