PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissociate the chlorine of dioxin and to make ash and tar containing dioxin harmless in a short time at low costs by a method in which ash, etc., containing dioxin dissolved in alkaline alcohol and other alkaline solutions are irradiated with high energy electron beams. SOLUTION: Ash and tar 1 discharged from an incinerator are mixed in a mixer 2 in which alkaline alcohol liquid is stored, solutions which were dissolved and separated are charged into respective containers 4a to prescribed liquid levels, and the containers are closed by lid bodies 4b. The solution in the closed container 4 is irradiated with high energy electron beams 12 from an electron beam irradiation part 7 by accelerated energy generated by an electron beam generator 6 to attempt dechlorination to make dioxin harmless. The solution after irradiation is separated by a solid-liquid separator 8 which separates solid and liquid. After that, alcohol is is recovered from a return line, led to the mixer 2, and reused. Ash and tar 9 not containing dioxin is discharged separately. |
