<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing seizure of an inlet valve or efficiently clear the already caused seizure of the inlet valve by bringing the inlet valve of an engine into contact with a specific fuel composition. SOLUTION: This method for preventing seizure of an inlet valve comprises bringing the inlet valve of an internal combustion engine into contact with a fuel composition, which comprises the majority of hydrocarbon having a boiling point within a range of a gasoline, and a hydrocarbylpoly(oxyalkylene) aminocarbamate of an amount effective to prevent, reduce or clear the seizure, for example of 1,500-5,000 weight ppm. The carbamate has one or more basic nitrogen atoms and 500-10,000 average molecular weight, and further the hydrocarbyl group has 1-30 carbon atoms. The hydrocarbyl group of the hydrocarbylpoly(oxyalkylene)aminocarbamate is preferably an alkylphenyl group.</p> |
