PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound useful for a synthetic intermediate for a dye in the field of photochemistry, by reacting a specific cyclohexanol with a prescribed carboxylic acid by using a specified carboxylic acid anhydride. SOLUTION: A cyclohexanol of formula I (R1 is H or an alkyl; R2 , R3 , R4 , R2 , R3 , and R4 , are each H or an alkyl) is reacted with a carboxylic acid of formula II (R5 and R6 are each H, a halogen, etc.; R<7> is an aliphatic group or an aryl group; M is H, an alkali metal, etc.; (n) is an integer of 1 or 2) in the molar ratio of 10:1 to 1:1 in the presence of 0.1-10mol equivalent based on the compound of formula I of a base such as a trialkylamine and 0.5-20mol based on 1mol of the compound of formula I of a carboxylic acid anhydride of formula III (R<8> and R<9> are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, etc.) in a solvent such as ethyl acetate at -40 to 80 deg.C for 0.1 to 10 hours to give the objective compound. |
