This invention concerns an axle assembly with two radially adjustable wheelsets whose position on the body or chassis of a high-speed rail vehicle is controlled by means of a control device, the axle assembly having a longitudinal carrier and shock absorbers. The axle assembly has a positive-control device (7, 7') with means (19, 19') for controlling the axial mobility of the two wheelsets (2, 3) without the need of an axle guide plus a longitudinal carrier (6) and at least one shock absorber (9, 9'). The two axle bearings (10, 10') on each side are linked to each other by a horizontal positive-control device (7, 7'). This device can be pivoted about a fixed point (14, 14') on the vehicle chassis (5). This ensures, even at very high speeds, stable running characteristics, as well as flexible, wear-free mounting and appropriate angles of rotation of the wheelset control device lever arms, without other space requirements having to be limited. |
