MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY CAPABLE OF SPECIFICALLY REACTING WITH HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new antibody consisting of a monoclonal antibody capable of reacting with human growth hormone(hGH), but, not with monkey blood components, and useful for, e.g. a high-sensitive immunoassay of hGH capable of assaying hGH, which has been administered to a monkey, in its blood. SOLUTION: This antibody is a new monoclonal antibody that can react specifically with human growth hormone(hGH), but, substantially not with monkey blood components and useful for, e.g. a high-sensitive immunoassay of hGH capable of accurately and directly determining monkey's blood hGH that has been administered to a monkey, for example, for non-clinical studies in developing hGH as a medicament and for the exploration of hGH's physiological significance. This monoclonal antibody is obtained by immunizing Balb/c mice with purified hGH together with an adjuvant, collecting their spleen cells after final immunization to fuse with mouse myeloma cells, collecting the hybridoma cells by selectively culturing the fused cells in HAT medium, then, selecting and cloning an anitibody-producing strain, and finally, culturing the anti-hGH antibody-producing hybridoma cells.
