The mechanism is particularly for delivering items to a labelling machine, feeding them from an accumulation point in front of the latter by a first conveyor, which can be stopped dependent on the quantity at the accumulation point, and to which the items are delivered in succession. The feed mechanism is coupled to the drive unit by a clutch as required, and a second conveyor is provided for onward transport of the items which have passed through the labelling machine. The clutch is disengaged when the quantity on the feed mechanism reaches a predetermined minimum, and also by a switch when the stack height on the second conveyor has reached a preset maximum figure, so as to halt delivery of any further items. |
