The method consists of: - effecting a synthesis stage from a bank of orthogonal polyphase filters H(z1,z2) produced from the matrices R1, W P and D(z1,z2) of the form: ( H0(Z1,z2)) (1 ) ( H1(Z1,z2)) (z1 ) H(z1,z2) = ( H2(Z1,z2)) = R1WP <K>( pi )(i=2) D(z1,z2)PWRiWP (z2 ) ( H3(Z1,z2)) (z1z2). The bank of orthogonal polyphase filters include four sub-band filters H0(Z1,z2), H1(Z1,z2), H2(Z1,z2), H3(Z1,z2) with linear phase and size 2K x 2K; - optimise the choice from the filtering parameters of the sub-band filters and from the filtering cells for a number of null moments of each of the sub-band filters, function of the number N maximum null moments, from an annulation constraint relation of the partial derivative of the frequency response for each sub-band filter. The optimising stage is designed to minimise the signal reconstruction error recomposed from a signal delivered by at least one of the sub-band filters.
