Compact drive unit for variable hydraulic loads, especially pressure injection moulding machines

This is a new drive unit for a hydraulic pump (11), supplying variable load consumer(s). It is especially suitable to feed the hydraulic cylinder units of pressure injection moulding machine(s). The pump rotor (9) and a coupled flywheel (13) are driven by an electric motor (1). In this novel and innovative design, the flywheel surrounds the hydraulic pump. In running around the pump, it also acts as a sound protection cover. Preferably the flywheel is hollow and cylindrical; it surrounds the pump casing (23). Its rotary bearing bush (29) is fixed to the pump casing. Both ends (35, 51) of the rotor shaft (9) project from the casing. One (51) is connected to the motor, the other (35) passes through the central bore of the bearing bush, to a carrier (39, 41). The latter is connected to the flywheel through a resilient coupling (43, 35) unit. The flywheel is mounted on a resilient section (33) on the bearing bush. The flywheel may be connected to the motor through gearing. The space between the flywheel casing and the drive side of the hydraulic pump has a sound-reducing collar (52). The motor casing (61) has a drum-like auxiliary casing (63) surrounding it. The interspace so formed is connected to the suction side of the hydraulic pump, and in operation, hydraulic fluid flows through it.
