The electric light fitting has a housing (10, 11) and at least one low pressure tubular discharge bulb (12) also an operating unit for operating the at least one bulb. The bulb (12) is fixed at the light housing using adhesive (13). The bulb has no base or socket and has several current supply leads (14a, 14b, 14c, 14d) protruding from the discharge vessel of the bulb. The leads are connected respectively with the bulb side electrical terminals (19a) of the operating unit. The adhesive medium consists of at least one double sided adhesive strip (13), which produces an adhesive connection between the light housing (10, 11) and the discharge vessel (12) of the at least one LP discharge bulb. The carrier of the double sided adhesive strip is made of polyethylene foam.
