The object of the invention is to stabilize the frequency of a YIG-oscillator connected to a phase-locking loop. According to the invention, this object is achieved in that an active loop filter with a low-noise operation amplifier is connected downstream of the phase comparator of the phase-locking loop, and the output voltage of the active loop filter is additionally coupled into a drift control loop as a manipulated variable for controlling the coil current of the main coil, is thus restricted in terms of its bandwidth by a PI member and controls a U-I converter feeding into the main coil such that a drift of the YIG-oscillator is compensated. The invention is used for stabilizing the frequency of a YIG-oscillator comprising a phase-locking loop in which the FM coil of the YIG-oscillator acts as an actuator, at least one quartz oscillator acts as the setpoint generator and a phase comparator has a downstream loop filter. The YIG-oscillator is used as a low-noise microwave signal source.
