New attenuated Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains

The following are claimed: (A) an attenuated Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) strain which has a LD50 of /-2x10<-7> cells in mice and which is obtd. by isolating PA in a pure state according to immunotype from patients infected with PA and subjecting the isolated strain to repeat purificn. to attenuate the strain; (B) the use of /-1 PA strain selected from (a) - (g) in the prepn. of a vaccine for immunisation against PA infection; (C) a method of immunisation against a disease caused by PA by injecting into a person a non-pathogenic antigen comprising cell wall proteins deriv. from /-1 attenuated non-pathogenic PA strain; (D) a non-pathogenic vaccine for inducing an immune response against a disease caused by PA;(E) a process for prepg. a non-pathogenic vaccine for immunisation against PA infection; (F) an incubation medium for incubating an attenuated PA strain, and (G) a therapeutic agent for treating PA infection in a patient, which comprises /-1 immunoglobulin specific against /-1 PA strain.
