Combustion chamber structure

The combustion chamber structure includes precombustion chamber elements (3) forming precombustion chambers (2) and connecting apertures (13) in the cylinder head (7). Some of the air compression force in the main combustion chamber (1) is stored as a spring force. This prevents an excessive rise in pressure in the main combustion chamber and keeps the pressure difference between it and the precombustion chamber low. The force stored in the spring (22) is won back in the form of work during the working stroke.
