2-Substituted-N-acyloxazolidines are obtd. by condensing an N-(2-hydroxyethyl)amide of an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic mono- or di-carboxylic acid with a C2-8 aldehyde or ketone. The novel cpds. have the formula:- where Ra = C2 or more satd. or unsatd. gp. derived from an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic mono- or dicarboxylic acid; Rb = H or a hydrocarbon gp; Rc = hydrocarbon gp. Rb and Rc together contain 1-7 carbons. - The 2-subst-N-acyloxazolidines are valuable antistatics, textile auxiliaries and lubricants for plastics.
