The cap (1) incorporates a depression (2) or a projection in a cover plate (5), which has a peripheral engagement area (8) to surround and engage the discharge tube of the aerosol can. The depression or projection has a hole (3) into which the discharge tube (9) fits. One section of the cap has a smaller diameter than the outer diameter of the discharge tube, and is formed under the hole for the discharge tube. Discharging gas or liquid impacts on a baffle plate, and is directed to an area below the narrow section of the hole. Two openings (12) are formed in the connection area between the narrow area and the baffle plate. The cover plate of the cap is fluid tight up to the hole for the discharge tube. By pressing down on the discharge tube, the narrow area, the can contents are discharged against the baffle plate and through an opening opposite an outer peripheral wall.
