Billiard and snooker balls

The billiards or snooker balls (8-10) are of a plastics material, with the same rolling behaviour as balls produced from elephant tusks. The material has a filler to increase the weight to 1.83-1.92. The balls have the same density and basic colour as ivory, with a dia. of 5.72 mm or 61.5 mm. The material is polyester or an unsaturated polyester resin together with BaSO4 in a powder form. It can also be a phenol resin, polycondensed phenoplasts and phenoxy resin. The balls can also have a steel core.
