Press mantle for wet paper web(s)

The press mantle, for the extraction of water from a wt paper web, has a matrix base material (12) containing particles (13) through its whole vol., which affect the physical character of the base material (12). Preferably the particles have a size <= 100 mu m and pref. <= 10 mu m, and have an open pore outer surface. The particles (13) are of metal or ceramics, or a material based on carbon. The particles (13) have a higher heat conductivity than the elastomer matrix (12) of polyurethane, rubber or a rubber-based material. The particles (13) are embedded in the matrix (12) in a homogenous distribution, in a concentration which increases or decreases towards the outer surface of the mantle, in a linear or non-linear structure. The concentration and/or type of particles differ selectively in the separate layers of a layered matrix (12). Filaments or woven reinforcements (17,18) are embedded in the matrix (12) of the press mantle (10).
