Games machine system with number of decentralised game stations

The system consists of a number of decentralised games machines 2 that have a symbol display 4 and inputs 5 to control the games. Each machine is coupled to a unit 3 that accepts payment in different ways, e.g. cash, card or cheque and each machine is identified by a security module 6. The machines are linked via interfaces, using the security modules, with the telephone network to a central controller 1 that receives input of the money transactions as the games proceed.
