The mincer comprises a ring=shaped blade basket which is surrounded by a housing, having numerous blades spaced around its periphery. A carriage is provided for moving the basket, which has a ring (1.2) on each of its end faces, located outside the housing into an extended position, where the front ring is supported by a stop. A safety device cooperating with the rear ring (1.2) comprises a retaining claw (6) with a head (6.1) which locates between the screw heads of screws (1.3,1.4) which attach the blade units to the rings.
