Inspecting method for print product with camera producing pixel-wise actual value signals

The method for the inspection of a printed product, with which the image taking unit pixel wise actual value signals are produced, reproducing the surface of the printed product. With which the actual value signals are compared with desired value signals reproducing a reference image. Also with which from the comparison signals an alarm signal is derived, if faults are identified on the surface of the printed product. Actual colour measurement values are obtained from the actual value signals. The actual colour measurement values are transformed in actual colour places (E IST) of a responsive grading of uniformly spaced colour space. So that for each pixel (%), the colour distance (dE) to a desired colour place (E SOLL) is colour metrically determined.
