Super paramagnetic or ferromagnetic particles in aqueous dispersion

Particles (I) and their stable and/or unstable dispersions in polar and/or non-polar dispersants are claimed. (I) consists of super paramagnetic and/or ferromagnetic material in defined quantity and crystal structure. (I) are optionally sterically and/or electrostatically stabilised by means of conventional steric stabilisers and/or di-, tri- and multi-block copolymers or the particles are non-stably dispersed and optionally are coated with a combined electrostatic and/or steric coating. Also claimed is a two step process for the production of stable and/or unstable dispersions of (I) in polar and/or non-polar dispersants by forming the colloidal particle(I) followed by dispersion in a suitable medium.
