The fixing ring comprises a single-piece ring body (17) with an opening (4). The ring body fits in a groove of the roll neck. The opening in the ring body deviates from a circular shape so that it is prevented from rotating axially when placed over the end of the roll neck and moved longitudinally into the region of the groove formed in the neck. A locking device (13) for fixing the ring against peripheral rotation in the groove comprises a spring-loaded bolt (14), which is provided in the body and passes through it to engage in a corresponding blind hole in the roll neck groove. Preferably the opening has two opposite flanks (5,6) in which arc-shaped recesses (7,8) are provided. |
