The first invention relates to uncoated agricultural chemical granules characterized by containing at least one effective agricultural chemical component as the active ingredient and having a circularity coefficient of 0.7 or above as calculated by the following formula, and coated agricultural chemical granules prepared by coating the above uncoated agricultural chemical granules with a resin-base material: circularity coeff. = (4.pi. x area of projection of granules)/(length of outline of projection of granules)2. The second invention relates to coated agricultural chemical granules controlled in release timing, which are prepared by coating agricultural chemical granules exhibiting a swelling power of 1 to 30 ml/2g in absorbing water with a coating material comprising a thermoplastic resin as the film-forming component. The agricultural chemical granules exhibit excellent functions of inhibiting initial release and stabilizing initial dissolution.
