摘要 Pressure-sensitive hot-melt adhesive materials (I) based on non-thermoplastic elastomers have a viscosity of more than 900 (preferably 900-1200) Pa.s at 130 degrees C with a shear gradient of 100 s<-1>, and are obtained by (a) making a first batch of material from the elastomers (II) and one or more additives such as fillers, antioxidants, plasticisers and tackifying resins in an intensively shearing, intensively cooling mixer in the absence of solvent to give material with a final temperature of 100-160 degrees C, and (b) mixing the first batch with one or more additives as above in a second mixer in the absence of solvent, and homogenising to give material (I) with a final temperature of 100-160 degrees C. The total residence time of the material at temperatures above 100 degrees C is not more than 6 minutes. Also claimed is self-adhesive tape suitable for use at up to 80 degrees C, obtained by (c) coating a base tape in the absence of solvent with uncrosslinked material (I) which after coating has a viscosity of more than 800 (preferably 800-1200) Pa.s under the above conditions.
