The textile, in endless form, is passed through a treatment fluid contained in the bottom of an enclosed chamber, and liquid dye is applied in closely controlled qualities from a dispenser situated above the treatment fluid to the unsubmerged part of the textile piece. The dye liquor is applied from a trough over flow extending the width of the carpet and floats in a mercury pool. the treatment fluid and dye and heated and controlled at a constant temperature. Uniform treatment of the carpet is effected over its entire width. |
