FUEL RECIRCULATION SYSTEM

A fuel recirculation system (10) is provided that includes a fuel tank (14), a fuel delivery circuit for transporting fuel between the fuel tank (14) and an internal combustion engine (12), a fuel recirculation circuit (20) coupled with the fuel delivery circuit upstream of the engine (12) and adapted for recirculating the fuel (26) back to the fuel tank (14) periodically. The present fuel recirculation system (10) also includes a fuel pump (18, 38), the capacity of which is sufficient to supply the required fuel (26) to the engine (12) via the fuel delivery circuit and recirculate the remaining volume of fuel by way of the fuel recirculation circuit (20) periodically (e.g. one every 24 hours).
