<p>This invention is a medical device for delivering a drug internally to a patient's body. The medical device includes a catheter (4) with a catheter shaft (5) and a balloon (6) attached to a distal end of the catheter shaft (5), and a flexible, thin-walled sheath (10) extending over the balloon (6). The sheath (10) includes a balloon enveloping portion (12) having an inner diameter sized to fit closely around the balloon (6) and a collar (14) distal to, and having an inner diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the balloon enveloping portion (12). The collar (14) terminates in an opening, and a tab (22) extends distally from a wall of the sheath (10).</p> |
