Induced draught fans (6) draw ambient air through the condenser tubebundles (5). The air is heated by the condensation process, occurring in the tubebundles, and is blown by the fans into a mixing area where wet exhaust fumes are injected (2). Within the mixing area the humid and hot combustion gases are mixed with the air from the condensing process by use of special static mixers / diffusers (7) positioned within the stack. The mixture is designed to achieve a relative humidity low enough to guarantee that no visible plume will be emitted from the exhaust stack (8) The heated air from the condenser may be used to dry solids. Preferably the combustion gasses are the product of waste incineration and the condenser is a steam condenser.
|
