An agricultural harvesting machine (1), such as a combine harvester comprises means (14) for collecting crop material from a field, means (19, 15) for conveying the collected crop into the harvesting machine and means (11, 12) for processing said collected crop. The harvesting machine is equipped with a sensor means (70) for sensing the flow rate of at least a portion of said collected crop. The sensor means are provided with dampening means (85-90) for dampening mechanical vibrations caused by said collecting means (14), said conveying means (19, 15) and/or said crop processing means (11, 12). The sensor means comprise an idler sprocket (71) which senses the torque transmitted by a chain transmission (62-64) upon a conveyor, such as the transverse conveyor of a header (14). The dampening means involve an inertia wheel (90) attached to the driving sprocket (64) of the chain transmission, an elastic coupling and further inertia wheel (85) driven by the primary drive shaft (50) of the header (14). <IMAGE> |
