PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a call-originating operation to a desired communication opposite party without seeing the pannel surface of a portable telephone and also without substantially taking a hand off a handle by selecting the head character of the registered communication opposite party successively voice-displayed from a speaker and selecting the register name of the desired communication opposite party corresponding to the selected head character which is successively voice-displayed from the speaker. SOLUTION: When a multi-function switch 16 provided in the neighborhood of the handle 11a is operated, the hands-free unit 13 of a hands-free system 10 successively voice-displays the head characters of the communication opposite parties from the hands-free speaker 14 at first. When the multi-function switch 16 is operated at the time of voice-display of the head character of the desired communication opposite party, the register names of the communication opposite parties corresponding to the desired head character are successively voice-displayed. Moreover, when the multi- function switch 16 is operated at the time of voice-displaying the register name of the desired communication opposite party, the telephone number of the communication opposite party is transmitted to the portable telephone 12. Thus, calling as against the desired communication opposite party is executed by a simple operation. |
