PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the effect of reducing the burden of the monitoring job of a monitoring operator by discriminating a telegraphic message from ATM by a monitoring terminal so as to inform a business shop of a part corresponding to the business shop so as to reduce the monitoring object of the monitoring operator. SOLUTION: This monitoring system consists of an automatic transaction machine 1 and a monitoring terminal 7 arranged at a monitoring center where a monitoring operator is stational and monitoring the machine 1. When a fault or an alarm is generated at the device 1, the machine 1 sends a telegraphic message showing the content of the fault or the alarm to the terminal 7. In this case, the terminal 7 informs the stuff on the side of the machine 1 when the message from the device 1 shows the contents the side of the machine 1 should cope with, and the picture display of the terminal 7 informs the monitoring operator when the message shows the contents the side of the terminal 7 should deal with.
