PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the assembling and the adjusting of an optical pickup device by providing recessed parts on a semiconductor substrate and arranging a surface light emitting laser in one recessed part to dispense with the adjusting of a height. SOLUTION: The whole of a device is easily made to be packaged by providing recessed parts on a semiconductor substrate 2 and also by forming a surface light emitting laser 3 and a photodetector 4 in the parts and by integrally providing a beam splitter 5, a polarizing hologram 6, an objective lens 7 and a photodetector 8 on the semiconductor substrate 2. Moreover, an outgoing light from the surface light emitting laser 3 can be effectively magnified to enlarge a beam diameter being on the pupil of the objective lens 7 by forming a concave lens 5d at the part of a first prism 5a opposing to the surface light emitting laser 3. Moreover, since a polarized component due to a Kerr rotation in among reflected light beams on a magneto-optical disk 1 is made so as to be diffracted with the polarizing hologram 6 and is 100% reflected on a polarizing film 5c to be received by a light receiving part, a light quantity can be made small and information are detected with high accuracy. |
