PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the charge and discharge repeating characteristic of an electrode, and provide a battery having an excellent cycle characteristic by forming thickness of an end of an electrode mix layer larger than the mean thickness of the electrode mix layer without providing a projecting part. SOLUTION: From points of easiness of manufacture and control of thickness accuracy, an adhesive tape 22 is stuck onto a collector 21 of an electrode so as to increase the thickness of an end of a mix layer of a rectangular electrode (A). Electrode mix 22 is applied thereon, and after drying it, the adhesive tape 22 is peeled together with the mix 23 provided thereon (B). As a result, an electrode mix layer 24 to be obtained has a part 27, of which thickness is larger than the mean thickness of the electrode mix layer 24 (C). Maximum thickness of the thick part 27 of this end is increased at 2-25% in relation to the mean thickness of the electrode mix layer 24. Thickness can be adjusted by adjusting thickness of the tape 22. In this case, the part 27 is desirably not provided with a projecting part at an acute angle, and in the case where a projecting part is generated, it is mechanically scraped. |
