PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the technology by which digital service is provided in addition to a conventional analog service by using a conventional community receiving installation employing coaxial cables. SOLUTION: A head end section demodulates signals such as a digital satellite broadcast signal S1, a digital ground wave broadcast signal S2, a digital cable transmission signal S3, and a conventional analog broadcast signal S34. Then the signals are multiplexed as an MPEG (moving picture experts group) signal, and a TS(transport stream) signal is obtained and an RF signal is digitally modulated by the TS signal and the modulated signal is delivered to each reception section of each viewer so as to allow each viewer to receive various digital transmission services in addition to the conventional broadcast service. |
