PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten retrieval time and to accelerate the response speed of conversion by providing the KANJI (Chinese character) conversion dictionary table in the plural- stage constitution of a retrieval table and a character string table at the time of retrieving a KANJI conversion dictionary and converting a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character string inputted by KATAKANA (square form of KANA) to a KANJI character string or a KANJI/KANA mixed character string. SOLUTION: In this KANJI conversion dictionary retrieval system for retrieving the KANJI conversion dictionary and converting the KANA character string inputted by the KATAKANA to the KANJI character string or the KANJI/KANA mixed character string, the KANJI conversion dictionary is provided with the KANJI conversion dictionary table in the two-stage constitution of the retrieval table 1 and the character string table 2. Then, at the time of retrieving the dictionary, bisecting tree search is performed by the read of the KANJI character string to be required and the leading address and data number in the character string table 2 of the KANJI character string to be required are obtained. Then, by taking out the KANJI character strings for the number of data as conversion candidates from the character string table 2 by the obtained leading address, the candidates of the KANJI character string are obtained from the read of the KANJI character string to be required. |
