PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape winding device capable of reducing slip torque and also capable of winding a tape cassette having a large rotational load smoothly. SOLUTION: In this magnetic tape winding device for winding a magnetic tape sent out at a fixed speed by a capstan and a pinch-roller around a reel, a slipping mechanism provided with a drive slipping gear 1 to be rotatingly driven by a motor and a follower slipping gear 2, which is rotatingly driven by being frictionally engaged with the drive slipping gear 1 while being slipped and, rotatingly drives the reel. This slipping mechanism can reduce the average slip torque by changing slip torques periodically and can wind up a tape cassette high in rotational load smoothly.
