PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the long-time recording of the multimedia information. SOLUTION: A dot code that is recorded on a recording medium such as paper, etc., and can be optically read consists of plural square blocks 304 of the same size which are arranged in two dimensions of X and Y directions so as to share their sides with each other. Every block 304 includes a data dot pattern consisting of plural dots 316 which are arrayed in two dimensions according to the contents of the data on the multimedia information and a pattern that couldn't be included in the data dot pattern. Then the markers 310 whose centers are set at the apex positions set at four corners of each block 304 and the block address patterns 306 which show the block addresses are arranged based on a prescribed position relation. In such cases, the markers 310 and the patterns 306 are particularly arranged so as to be shared by the blocks 304 which are vertically and/or horizontally adjacent to each other. |
