PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and convenience in a mobile environment by using a portable terminal provided with a function for automatically selecting a communication network, capable of executing communication by means of a min. communication time or min. communication charge in plural mobile communication networks by a radio wave detecting means, a management means and a communication means, etc. SOLUTION: This portable terminal is constituted of a CPU 21, a memory 22, an image display device 23 such as LCD, etc., an input device 24 such as a keyboard and a mouse, a communication controller 25, a radio wave detecting device 26, a secondary storage device 27 and an incorporated timer 28, etc. The communication controller 25 executes communication with the mobile communication network, capable of executing plural kinds of communication and the radio wave detecting device 26 detects the radio wave of the plural mobile communication networks. Various kinds of programs for realizing a communication program(CP) to execute an optimum communication processing and a management table are stored in the memory 22.
