PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely small solenoid which can generate a large magnetic field with a weak current and has a size of nanometer order. SOLUTION: A tensile stress 1 is applied to a nitrogen carbide nano-tube or a boron carbide nano-tube containing an injected alkali metal in the length direction of the tube, by controlling the flowing direction of an electric current 2 by applying a mechanical stress to the tube. Consequently, the current 2 flows on the surface of the nano-tube in the form of a spiral having a diameter, of several nm in a state where the current winds around the tube. Therefore, a large magnetic field can be generated with a weak current and the size of a ferromagnetic field generating device can be reduced. |
