PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder the size of the operation panel of which is made small, while keeping lots of functions provided to the recording device such as a facsimile equipment. SOLUTION: A personal computer connected to the recorder conducts execution of functions provided to the recorder and setting/revision of additional information thereto. With respect to inquiry (P12) about a function of an identification number #n, a function list is sent (P23) to a CPU 501 and displayed (P13). The displayed function or additional information is confirmed, and the function or additional information is revised (P15, P16). The set/revised function or additional information is stored in a memory of the computer. The set/revised function or additional information is sent (P19), then stored in the memory (P25), and the setting of the function or additional information is finished. |
