1304912 Cross-linking PVC RADIATION PROCESSING Inc 28 April 1970 [2 May 1969] 20264/70 Heading C3P Cross-linked PVC compositions comprise a vinyl chloride resin and per 100 parts thereof (a) 10-60 parts of plasticizer, (b) 3-25 parts of an unsaturated cross-linking additive, (c) 0À5-25 parts of a lead stabilizer and (d) 0À5-20 parts of epoxy stabilizer and the composition is cross-linked by subjection to 0À1-5 megarads of ionizing radiation. In the examples are used (a) tri(n-octyl-n-decyl)trimellitate, (b) trimethylol propane trimethacrylate, triallyl cyanurate or ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, (c) dibasic lead phthalate and dibasic lead stearate and (d) epoxy-bisphenol A resin and additionally antimony silico-oxide, stearic acid coated calcium carbonate and titanium dioxide. The compositions may be coated on to wire and then irradiated. |
