READING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR BAR CODE SYMBOL OF PIXEL IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read the bar code symbol of a binary pixel image by deciding a bar code symbol corresponding to that with which a candidate bar and a candidate space should read the candidate static areas and then decoding the decided bar code symbol. SOLUTION: A composite signal generator 106 generates a composite signal corresponding to the bar code symbol with which a candidate bar and a candidate space should read the candidate static areas. Then a composite signal thresholder 108 decides the threshold of the composite signal and filters it in order to produce a binary signal against the composite signal. A composite signal decoder 110 decodes the binary signal to decode the bar code symbol. When the decoder 110 succeeds in its decoding, the decoder 110 transfers the decoded signal to an output selector 118.
